Cute Critters
I absolutely adore cute critters, and have fun incorporating them into my art.
Top left: Lady bugs partying on a purple mushroom. Gouache painting with metallic marker accents.
Top middle: The fairy of pollenation. Part bee, part lady bug, part fairy. This critter goes around making sure all the plants are happy. Gouache painting.
Top right: Basketball frog. I am a huge NBA fan that deeply misses the Sonics, and frogs are my favorite animal. Combine them and you get basketball frog on a basketball in front of the rainy Seattle skyline. Gouache painting.
Middle left: Sleepy Totoro! Studio Ghibli movies are a huge inspiration because of their whimsical creatures and art style. Gouache painting.
Middle: One of my first digital pieces of a frog parachuting down on a colorful mushroom. Digitally made with Clip Studio Paint.
Middle right: A creature I created that I call a forest guardian. They don’t have eyes in their head, but they each have one that they hold that can sense so much more than physical images. Gouache painting.
Bottom left: Two frogs cuddled up while watching the snow storm. While rain is the coziest weather, snowy days are a close second. Gouache painting.
Bottom middle: A playful tiger waiting in the jungle leaves. This was a painting I did for art-tober 2022, and one of my favorites from that month. Gouache painting.
Bottom right: Sleepy bat hanging in the cave. I think I was feeling really tired this day, and thought this was the best way to visualize that feeling. Sometimes you just want to cover your eyes and keep sleeping. Gouache painting.
